Athol Police Logs: Oct. 9-14, 2022

Sunday, October 9

4:18 p.m. – Exchange Street caller requested assistance with a group of juveniles trying to start trouble with her son. Group of kids ran out of the lot as officers arrived.

4:32 p.m. – Pleasant Street caller reported another tenant was just assaulted by a male party that stays with her.  Simple assault and battery and involved parties advised of option through ODC, and HPO.

5:11 p.m. – Lenox Street caller reported two juveniles were just in his backyard stealing from his crop. No description other than they ran into the cemetery. No description. No security cameras.

6:19 p.m. – Police assisted an Elizabeth Street caller who reported that he had caught a juvenile stealing a purse from his neighbor’s vehicle. Juvenile then took off, threw the purse. Two other neighbors had begun chasing the juvenile. 

Monday, October 10

12:41 a.m. – Single-car motor vehicle accident reported from S Athol and Riceville Road area. Reporting party had hit a rock/pole (as well as a deer) while trying to avoid hitting a deer. No personal injuries, no known fluids, no airbag deployment

11:02 a.m. – Ward Street area caller reported that she was in the area and heard what sounded like a dog being beaten, and had spoken with neighbors who have heard/saw similar incidents.  Referred to Animal Control Officer.

Tuesday, October 11

12:32 a.m. – Thrower Road caller requested officer assistance with ongoing harassment issue.

11:17 a.m. – Harrington Street area 911 caller reported that she arrived on scene for a male party that she normally takes care of that was unresponsive and not breathing. Police assisted and Medical Examiner’s office contacted. The covering property manager providing her information for Police. 

2:01 p.m. – Caller from Main Street area reported finding his vehicle had been struck sometime in the past two or more days. Reporting party stated the damage was on the passenger side, where he rarely goes, and that is why he didn’t see it. Unknown exactly where and when damage occurred. 

Thursday, October 13

10:29 a.m. – Call from DCF  to report a missing juvenile from Beacon Street area. Juvenile entered as missing.

12:59 p.m. – Metropolitan Court caller reported a male party possibly illegally dumping construction materials in a dumpster he believes belongs to the preschool. Gray Ram truck, male wearing tan pants, gray T shirt.

2:45 p.m. – Old Keene Road report of goats in the roadway. Animal control officer responded.

9:42 p.m. – Officers at Orange and Pierce Streets responding to a disturbance intervened when a male party from previous disturbance started yelling at another individual in the middle of the road. Officers observed and went to intervene. Verbal only. 

10:53 p.m. – Petersham Road caller reported he had just been assaulted. Female party had destroyed his house, broke his glasses, assaulted him and left.  

Friday, October 14

2:13 p.m. – Petersham Road caller, who had been assaulted the previous night, requested police assistance claimed that the person who assaulted him was then on the way to his house. Police stood by for property retrieval.
