On Feb. 12, the teachers and staff of the Athol-Royalston Regional School District were awarded a certificate recognizing them all as the recipient of January’s Athol Lion’s Club Community Service Award. Athol Lions President Joshua Grosky, as well as Committee Member Mitchell Grosky presented the award to Athol Teachers Association President Kelly Conway and Vice President Tracy Johnson thank them both as the representatives for all teachers for “all of incredible work that teachers have done for the children and families of our community, going above and beyond in so many ways during this year of the pandemic.”

The award was first announced at the ARRSD School Committee meeting, in which School Committee Member Mitchell Grosky made the initial presentation of the award to ATA President Kelly Conway.

The Athol Lions Club is honoring three groups of educators this month: those from the Athol-Royalston Regional School District, those from the Orange Elementary Schools, and those from the Mahar Regional School District. The latter two groups of educators will be honored during the week after vacation.

This year, the Athol Lions will make a monthly special award of the Month to individuals or groups in our area who have modeled service to others in our community.
