December children’s programs at Athol Public Library

ATHOL — The following Children’s programs will take place during the month of December at the Athol Public Library:

Mondays, 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. LEGO Club: Children in grades 1 - 5 can drop in for LEGO Club. No registration necessary.

Tuesdays, 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Story Walk: Story boards are set up in Millers River Park for people of all ages to read; afterward children can make a craft in the Children’s Library. In inclement weather, the story is set up inside the library. This program is made possible by Valuing Our Children of Athol. No registration necessary.

Wednesdays, 10:15 a.m. – 11 a.m. Preschool Story Time: Preschool-age children and their caregivers listen to stories, sing, move, and craft. No registration necessary.

Wednesday, Dec. 12, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Movie Showing: People of all ages can drop in to watch Incredibles 2 (PG)! Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of APL. No registration necessary.

Wednesday, Dec. 19, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Craftastic Kids: Children in grades Pre-K – 5 can register to decorate a magical and snowy candy castle. Call the Children’s Library to sign up.

Thursdays, 11 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Baby & Toddler Time: Caregivers and little ones listen to stories, sing, move, socialize, and play. This program is for children up to 36 months; no registration necessary.

Thursday, Dec. 27, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Children, ages 9 – 13 years old, can register to build with the Library’s KNEX kits. This program is made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners; registration required.

Fridays, 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Story Walk: Story boards are set up in Millers River Park for people of all ages to read; afterward children can make a craft in the Children’s Library. Fridays, Dec. 14 and Dec. 28, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Minecraft and Roblox Club: Children in grades 3 and 4 can register to play Minecraft and Roblox.

Anytime in Dec. Patrons can stop in the Children’s Library to complete the monthly scavenger hunt, the monthly guessing contest and a drop-in craft.
