ATHOL — The Blind Pig has closed once again, after just having reopened in October. Before that, it had been closed for about four months.

A hand-written sign was taped to the front door stating, “Closed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience. Any questions contact the owner Dave.”

No one answered the phone there Friday. The door was locked and window curtains closed. Attempts to contact owner David Veautour prior to press time were unsuccessful. General manager Sean Mahoney posted the following on the Blind Pig’s Facebook page: “To all pig follower’s ... Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been forced to shut operations down effective immediately. I will update our status over the next few days. Thank you, Sean.”

Mahoney has worked in the restaurant industry for more than 26 years.

The Blind Pig was established in 2009, serving lunch and dinner fare. It was a popular hangout with locals.
