BARRE — The Quabbin Drug Response Unifying Group will meet Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 6 p.m., in the Quabbin Regional High School, to discuss plans for the 2019 Q-DRUG Substance Use Prevention Week in local schools and communities.

Members will be finalizing plans for community events, a middle school and a high school event, as well as elementary school plans.

Discussion will include ways to best express and share the goal of the week, what the group is and does in the community, and with the various ages in the schools.

Tasks, such as decorating (and un-decorating) the towns in purple during the Project Purple event, will be assigned.

Input will be sought on how to best share Q-DRUG’s message, and for people willing to help make those actions happen. This could include going to local businesses with information, writing an article for the local papers, creating banners to hang on the town commons, or anything else the group decides to do.
