GARDNER — Local artist and Gardner Area League of Artists member Sue Weber of Athol is exhibiting her art at The Gardner Ale House, 74 Parker St., through Sept. 9. Weber has exhibited in local art shows, where she has received ribbons for her work, and recently at the Heywood Hospital Wound Center.
Weber said she approaches her artwork in an eclectic manner, using different media to capture the creative moment. She works in colored pencil, acrylics, inks, watercolor, graphite, and pastels (pan, oil, and pencil), and very often combines these.
Weber enjoys creating realistic paintings of landscapes, flowers, and an occasional portrait; however, over time she found that she needed a creative outlet and so she began her abstract art journey. She applies her love of color and form to create fun, whimsical paintings from her heart and imagination. She loves to create abstract work that entices the viewer to have fun seeing whatever their imagination interprets — and to get lost in the multiple layers of her visual stories.
Weber enjoys meeting fellow artists. An artist’s reception for Weber has been scheduled at Gardner Ale House on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 3-5 p.m.
