GARDNER — The artwork of Janet M. Reed of Athol is now on display at the Gardner Ale House, through Dec. 30.
An artist’s reception will be beld Sunday, Nov. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Ale House, 74 Parker St., downtown Gardner.
Reed, a New Englander who has lived in Massachusetts her entire life, has had a lifelong passion for nature in all its forms, which shows in her paintings.
Her studies of the visual arts at Mt. Wachusett Community College, Sharon Art School, River Gallery and others, have helped to further develop and strengthen her talent.
She has exhibited at local and regional galleries and shows, and has been associated with several local artist groups, including Greater Gardner Artists Association (GGAA), Gardner Area League of Artists (GALA), Leominster Art Association, and Sharon Art Association.
Reed uses oils, encaustics and vibrant alcohol inks as her mediums to render landscapes, seascapes, birds, animals, flowers, abstract and other subjects. Her paintings explore realism to fantasy.
