ATHOL — Members of the Athol Lions Club volunteered recently to build new picnic tables, two each for Camp Wiyaka in Richmond, NH, and the Clara Barton Camp at the Barton Center for Diabetes Education, Inc. in Oxford, which offers creative, fun summer and year-round programs for children with insulin-dependent diabetes. Assisting were John Baldasaro, Dave Bishop, Vic Chaplin, Dave Flint, Dave Mallette, Ricky Misner, Karen Perkins, Gail Spring, Roger Spring and Willard Newton.

The club paid for the materials and members donated their time.

Both the Athol Area YMCA and the Clara Barton Center are two of the organizations supported by the Athol Lions Club through donations voted from the club’s annual budget.
