September news Upcoming events/activities

Thursday, Sept. 5 — Orange Seniors Citizens September meeting at noon with a luncheon on the porch at the Orange Historical Society. Tours will follow the business meeting. Tickets at the door.

Thursday, Sept. 5— Tai Chi, from 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Farmers Market, 3-6 p.m.

Saturday, Sept 7 — The Orange Senior Citizen Club’s annual fair to benefit scholarships will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Orange Armory, 135 East Main St.

Thursday, Sept. 12 — Foot clinic, 8-9:30 a.m. $4, bring a towel. At 1 p.m. there will be an estate planning seminar with Jeff Cole and Attorney Pamela Oddy; also Farmer’s Market from 3-6 p.m.

Saturday, Sept 14 — Go4Life, family fun walk, 1 mile walk to promote a healthy activity. Registration is at Orange Armory at 8:30 a.m. Drawings for participants will be held after the walk. Sponsored by the Council on Aging and funded by a grant from Blue Cross/Blue Shield. RSVP to 978-544-3481.Refreshments served following the walk.

Tuesday, Sept. 17 — exercise class, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.;

Wednesday, Sept. 18 — 1 p.m., Popcorn and a Movie, sponsored by the Friends of the Council on Aging. Screening the movie “Simon Birch.

Wednesday, Sept. 18 — Brown Bag pick up 10 a.m. to noon.

Thursday, Sept. 19 — Farmer’s Market, 3-6 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept 24 — exercise class, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Thursday, Sept. 26 — Tai Chi, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Farmers Market 3-6 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 7 — Thanksgiving dinner catered by Dan Carr Catering. Guests welcome. For information, call 978-544-6814.

Community Meals

Soup N Social, scheduled for the following: Sept. 3, roast chicken and vegetables; Sept. 5, baked potato bar with toppings; Sept. 10, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and squash; Sept. 12, Shepherd’s Pie and salad; Sept 17, French bread pizza (veggie or pepperoni); Sept. 19, chicken salad rolls/pickle; Sept. 24, chicken broccoli penne/salad; Sept 26, American chop suey.
