Orange Police Log: June 14

7:38 a.m. — Caller reports female party screaming and yelling, throwing a bunch of clothes around the intersection of East Main at South Main streets. Upon arrival, female party came out of her South Main Street apartment very upset and yelling that someone had taken her car. While speaking with her, her vehicle arrived on scene. She had been allowing someone to drive it to work. She retrieved the keys and was told to go back into her apartment as she was still being loud and upset with passers by. She went inside.

8:02 a.m. — Harassment, West Main Street. Caller advised he has received a harassing phone call from subject, as there is now an ongoing feud between her and his son. Party was already advised of the Harassment Prevention Order (HARPO) process and that police would document each incident for him.

8:25 a.m. — Caller reports it appears a blue Nissan SUV with unknown Florida plates dropped a husky-German Shepherd mix off on the road, and is leaving it behind, Pine Hill Road. Vehicle is heading toward Oxbow Road. Owner and dog located. Male party has walking issues so he drives while to dog runs behind to exercise. He has been doing this for years and already had spoken with the residents in the area.

12:11 p.m. — South Main Street caller reports someone broke into his business overnight, money and five guns are missing. Claims they also attempted to break into the safe. No signs of forced entry; thinks it was “an inside job.” Party found two fresh prints. Investigation started.

6:42 p.m. — Officer wanted, Mechanic Street. Caller states party is willing to move tonight but the judge ordered $1,500 to be paid and would like an officer present. Party explained subject has until June 30 to move out and they are to pay him $1,500. Officer will keep the peace while she gives party the money. Officer later stood by while party was given some checks.

7:24 p.m. — Motor vehicle accident reported, Prospect Street. Party reports a white car appears to have backed out of a driveway and smashed into a house. Caller can no longer see the car; didn’t think anyone was in the driver’s seat of the car which possibly came out of gear. Officer requested building inspector to Prospect Street. Advised the vehicle rolled down the driveway and struck a residence.

7:55 p.m. — Fairman Road; caller states she picked up some chairs on the side of the road in Wendell yesterday and now they are missing and she believes the upstairs neighbors have them and would like to speak with an officer. Chairs were found in a garage on the property. Caller will speak with landlord.

8:44 p.m. — Check welfare, Fountain Street, for a child playing with a fire extinguisher and spraying powder all over the road. Found to be subject walking up the street with a fire extinguisher; no powder was sprayed. Spoke with subject who explained he found the extinguisher under the railroad trestle. Extinguisher brought to the fire department; it was old and not in working condition. They will dispose of the unit.

10 p.m. — Panic alarm activation at summer residence, Holtshire Road. Party said she accidentally set off the alarm when grabbing her keys.

11:57 p.m. — Noise complaint, Prentiss Street. Barking dog; handled and dog quieted down.
