Orange Police Log: June 21-22

Friday, June 21

7:14 a.m. — Officer wanted, Rosemont Avenue. Caller advises there is a fan over her stove and it is running. She does not know how to shut it off. Officer assisted.

7:51 a.m. — Party reports there is a tree on wires, Main Street. No sparking/arcing fire at this time. Orange Highway Department on scene. National Grid advised.

11:40 a.m. — Loose dog, Cottage Street. Animal Control Officer advised.

12:28 p.m. — Animal investigation, Chestnut Hill Road. Caller reports back in May her kids found a duckling and notified the ACO. The ducking is now getting bigger and it appears to be a Canada goose. She is concerned because it it illegal to have possession of a Canada Goose and doesn’t want to get into trouble.Goos also has an injured wing and is currently living with the reporting party’s chickens and being cared for. ACO reached.

1:16 p.m. — Welfare check, New Athol Road. Trooper requests Orange Police check welfare of subject. As he was speaking to him via phone earlier today, he stated he has PSTD and started to make suicidal threats. Officer spoke with party who said he is at work. Checked, and advised he is fine and not Q5, just upset.

4:04 p.m. — Officer at East River Street location to serve RMV suspension notice. Negative contact. At 5 p.m., party to station inquiring why police were at her home. She was given the suspension notice for subject.

4:41 p.m. — Arrest, center of town. Units located a subject who has a straight warrant, and arrested Jerome Joseph Martin, 29, West Main Street, Orange, and transported him to the station.

5:33p.m. — Caller advises he has his kids from Friday to Monday, South Main Street. He states the mother is making threats to call the police on him. Asked to speak with officer about his option. Child custody issues; referred to probate court.

6:57 p.m. _ Officer wanted, East Main Street. Caller advises they have a female in custody in their office with no identification. Officer responded to identify. Party has been trespassed and is leaving the property.

7:28 p.m. — Report of loose dog around area, Holtshire Road. No dog found.

7:52 p.m. — East Main Street caller just noticed that it appears someone hit the front of her car. Believes it happened when she was at Walmart a while ago; she is on her way home now. Officer obtained information. No evidence that the vehicle got hit at Walmart today.

8:01 p.m. — Officer requested to assist with a female they have for shoplifting, East Main Street. Arrested Elaine Claire Zadrozny, 59, Russell Avenue, Ashburnham, on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

8:29 p.m. — Articles recovered, New Athol Road. Party found a debit card. Property logged.

Saturday, June 22

12:21 a.m. — Noise complaint, South Main Street. Caller states loud music coming from area of school. This is the second weekend in a row. Officer located and advised homeowner of the complaint. All ok.

12:25 a.m. — Athol police advise they took a call regarding a possible 14-year-old female driving a dark SUV that just left McDonalds in Athol. Vehicle located while assisting Athol Police.

1:51 a.m. — Officer en route to assist Athol with a party, Partridgeville Road. Assisted APD with juvenile transport to Athol Hospital.

7:30 a.m. — Party set off fire alarm after leaving frying pan on the stove, East River Street. Officer stood by while fire department ventilated the building.

9:22 a.m. — Orange Fire Department on scene with an illegal burn, requested officer, West Myrtle Street.

9:29 a.m. — Reporting party and another unit from Nashua, NH Police Dept. are en route to Orange to see if they can interview a subject, Eat River Street. They are inquiring if they can use a room at OPD if the party is willing to talk with them.

9:57 a.m. — Nashua police in to use the interview room at Orange Police Dept.

10:42 a.m. — Caller reporting very minor vandalism, South Main Street; attachment removed from her hose. Found it was misplaced.

1:05 p.m. — Caller states she has not spoken with her mother since last Saturday, Hayden Street. Found to be all set and will call the party later.

4:10 p.m. — Party to station to report an assault, New Athol Road. Report taken.

5:46 p.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, Route 2. Trooper took a report of a blue Caravan driving aggressively on Route 2. Cruiser to BOLO.

5:55 p.m. — Suspicious person, Dexter Street. Female caller reported a male and a female, both tall with dark hair and back packs, looked at her funny while at the school. She also advises they were walking very slowly. She found this suspicious. Officer spoke with subjects who were just up there for a walk. No problems found.

6:51 p.m. — Caller advises subject was throwing nip bottles out the window when he is driving by the armory, East Main Street. Cruiser to BOLO.

9:43 p.m. — Fireworks being let off, West Main Street. Officer responded.
