Tuesday, Dec. 3

10-11:30 a.m. — Playgroup at Athol Public Library. Caregivers and Children, ages birth to 5 years old, are welcome to meet in the Children’s Library to socialize and play.

10:30-11:15 a.m. — Rise and Romp Storytime: For children ages 2 to 5 years old. Stories, sing songs, learn rhymes, dance, and make an easy craft. Older and younger siblings welcome. Free. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange, 978-544-2495.

1-2 p.m. — Tech Help Tuesdays, at the Athol Public Library. Have a question about your phone, tablet, or apps, etc? Ask the experts. Free, and open to the public. Walk-in, no registration required.

3-5 p.m. — Gaming Alliance, in the TeenSpace at Athol Public Library. Try new games, find others who share interests, play cooperatively and in competitions. Featuring the Xbox One, Playstation 3 and Wii. Open to grades 6 - 12.

4-5 p.m. — Craftastic Kids: Snowflake Garlands, at the Athol Public Library. For ages 6-12; make snowflake garlands. Registration required at 978-259-9515.

4-7:30 p.m. — Story Walk sponsored by Valuing Our Children. Sign boards with pages from books on them are set up along Millers River Park for participants to read at their own pace. Afterward, participants can do a fun activity in the Children’s Library. No registration. All ages can participate.

5-7 p.m. — Mild Knights Chess Club, at the Athol Public Library. Challenge an experienced player or learn to play. Ages 18 and up. Younger players may join the Wild Knights Chess Club on Thursday afternoons. Free and open to players of all skill levels.

6 p.m. — Finding Hope Support Group for adult women who are survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Meets 1st & 3rd Tuesdays at Athol Congregational Church, 1225 Chestnut St., Athol. Contact: Jenna Sujdak 774-286-0561 or

Wednesday, Dec. 4

2-4 p.m. — Knit-Wits, drop in meeting with library volunteer jean Shite. Knitting, crocheting, needlework, other projects. Materials provided, or bring your own, Athol Public Library. Info. 978-249-9515.

3:30- 4:30 p.m. — LEGO Club: For kids ages 5 to 12. Adults may build with their children. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange, 978-544-2495.

6:30-8:30 p.m. — Creative Crafting for Adults, at the Athol Public Library with Robin and Emily. This month the class will make Woodland Ornaments. All materials and step-by-step instructions provided. Program is free and open to the public. Funded by the Friends of the Athol Public Library. Space is limited; register at 978-249-9515.

7-8:30 p.m. — Scouts BSA Troop 6 for Girls meets at Gardner American Legion, 22 Elm St. on Wednesdays in Hall B or C downstairs. Scouts BSA for girls serves girls ages 11-18. Venturing Crew 6 (for all youth 14-21) meets at trails, rivers, climbing gyms, escape rooms, ski slopes, and other fun locations.These two Scout units serve Athol, Orange, Phillipston and Royalston. Thursday, Dec. 5

1 p.m. — The Orange Senior Citizens Club will hold their Christmas meeting at the Orange Armory on East Main Street. A short business meeting will be followed with a Christmas musical program by Theresa Bergquest and Ann Reed. The refreshments will be a cookie swap, and a collection will be taken up for the Santa Fund.
