Athol Police Log: Sept 7-8

Saturday, Sept. 7

1:31 a.m. — Ambulance responded to Main Street for medical emergency.

1:53 a.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, Pinedale Avenue. 911 caller reporting vehicle passed his vehicle and had to be going 95 mph. Officers BOLO for vehicle, located 45 minutes later and had a conversation with the operation.

2:27 a.m. — Officer spoke with party about her driving, Main Street. Conducted Field Sobriety Test and completed appropriately. Party admitted to earlier incident. Citation issued for marked lanes violation and speeding.

2:46 a.m. — Noise complaint, Fairview Avenue. Report of party with people screaming and vehicles speeding up and down street for the past 20 minutes. Party over upon arrival.

4:42 a.m. — State Police in newbury requesting contact be made with male party, Pleasant Street. Motor vehicle registered to him was involved in a serious accident in their area and they are unable to locate the operator. No answer at the door.

6:15 a.m. — Report of wire down, and moved off to the side of the road, Hillside Terrace and Rich Place. Cable notified.

11:08 p.m. — Ambulance responded  to Main Street for report of elderly female who fell and possibly broke her hip.

11:20 p.m. — Caller states there is a large group of people in the parking lot, Reservoir Drive, and is requesting an officer stand by while she exits for the evening. The group of people dispersed on arrival. Officer stood by while the store employees exited the building.

11:46 p.m. — Suspicious vehicle, South Athol Road. Caller states a motor vehicle pulled into his driveway, shut off its lights and sat for a few minutes. Motor vehicle headed toward town when it left. Area searched, negative contact.

Sunday, Sept. 8

1:13 a.m. — Suspicious person. Caller reporting drug activity, Exchange Street. Searched area, negative contact.

8:21 a.m. — Ambulance to Ward Street for 75-year-old male.

8:42 a.m. — Officer out with open door on the bandstand, Union Street. Secured with the lock.

9:04 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, South Athol Road, for expired registered owner. Driver was the owner’s son and had a valid license.

9:30 a.m. — Warning issued to motorist for excessive speed, Riceville Road.

10:25 a.m. — Walk in asked to speak to officer regarding her missing son that she has not seen since 2 a.m. on Sept. 7. Missing person located with a female subject and he is fine.

12:29 p.m. — Party reporting a purse in roadway and could not pick it up due to it being a dangerous spot, Main and School streets. Another caller stated she just saw a male party dump a woman’s purse into a trash can with credit cards and medications then take off in a black sedan with red rims. Orange Police contacted to be on the lookout. Purse was gone; does not appear to be the same from later call which was thrown in the trash.

1:25 p.m. — 911 caller requesting phone number for Registry of Motor Vehicles. Officer educated the caller on the proper use of 911.

2:32 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Exchange Street. Written warning issued for failure to inspect vehicle.
