Thursday, May 23

11- 11:30 a.m. — Baby & Toddler Time: Caregivers and little ones listen to stories, sing, move, socialize, and play. This program is for children up to 36 months; no registration necessary; Athol Public Library.

10 a.m. — Registered Democrats in Royalston will hold a caucus at the Royalston Town Hall to elect delegates and alternates to the 2019 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. Open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Royalston who are 16 years old by May 11.

Friday, May 24

9:30 a.m. to Noon — Story Walk: Story boards are set up in Millers River Park for people of all ages to read; afterward children can make a craft in the Children’s Library. In inclement weather, the story is set up inside the library. This program is made possible by Valuing Our Children of Athol. No registration necessary.

10-11 a.m. — Baby and Toddler Sign Language Classes: Caregivers and children, birth – 36 months old, can register for American Sign Language classes with Bren Rennie. This program is generously funded by Valuing Our Children and Thom Western Regional Consultation Program. Space is limited. Please call the Athol Children’s Library to register.  

5-7 p.m. — Tour of two Mount Grace Land Trust properties with forester Mike Mauri. Meet at the Fox Valley Conservation area in Phillipston head down Petersham Road and bear right onto Lincoln Road. Trail head parking will be on the right. The group will then drive to Guiney Memorial Forest in Royalston for a look at a property there. Info: KimLynn Nguyen 978-248-2055 ext.14. Or

7 p.m. — Fourth Friday Film Series: in the Reading Room of the Wheeler Memorial Library. Free screening of "Free Solo" the Oscar winning documentary about professional rock climber Alex Honnold. Grove Street doors open at 6:45 p.m. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange. 978-544-2495.

7-9 p.m. — Zoë Darrow and Friends will perform at Butterfield Park, 83 East River St., Orange as part of Friendly Town Live, the free all-ages concert series. If rain is in the forecast, the concert will be held in the Unitarian Church, 31 North Main St. Orange.

Saturday, May 25

10 a.m. — Registered Democrats in New Salem will hold a caucus at the Stowell Building on South Main Street, New Salem, to elect delegates and alternates to the 2019 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention. The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in New Salem. 10-1 p.m. — Veterans Accessible Trail Event, Mt. Grace Memorial Day Celebration for service members, their families, and the community, 835 Millers Falls Rd., Northfield. Directions at: 978-248-2055 ext. 13.

7-10:30 p.m. — Monadnock Tri-State Dance Club dance, Ellen Lambert Murphy Memorial Community Center, 21 Durkey St., Winchester, NH. Patriotic theme night, with live music by Bushwack.
