PETERBOROUGH, NH — The Monadnock International Film Festival will present “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” an interactive film experience, on Thursday, Oct. 24 from 9 p.m. to midnight.
The madcap, musical mayhem starts with food, special drinks, and eye-catching costumes at Cooper’s Hill Public House, 6 School St., from 9-10 p.m.
At 10 o’clock, the party moves to the Peterborough Community Theatre for a special interactive screening complete with props, fishnets, and a sing along.
The 1975 movie is the longest-running theatrical release in film history. In keeping with its reputation for midnight screenings, audience members are encouraged to dress up as main characters (portrayed by actors Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick). Costumes are encouraged, not necessary, but prizes will be awarded. Prop bags will be provided for use during certain scenes in the film (How To Instructions will be included). For details on how to use the items, visit http://www.rockyhorror.com/participation/proplist.php. This film is R-rated and has mature subject matter. Only ages 16 and older are allowed.
Tickets are $35 per person and include pre-film party, prop bag, costume contest and film admission. Proceeds benefit the Monadnock International Film Festival, gearing up for its 8th annual event April 24 to 26, 2020.
