Athol Police Log: June 3-4

Monday, June 3

4:01 p.m. — 911 misdial, Chestnut Hill Avenue. Broken phone. Officer spoke with male party who is hard of hearing; he was unable to hear on the phone and needed help. Believed to have fixed the phone but he will contact his son tomorrow.

5:06 p.m. — Motor vehicle crash, Main and Spring streets. Vehicles operated by Jason M. Farinoli, of New Athol Road, Orange, and Sharon L. Chaisson, Concord Street, Athol were involved. Minor accident, no injuries, no fluids leaking. Ambulance was requested for 75-year-old female having difficulty breathing.

5:07 p.m. — Ambulance to North Orange Road for 78-year-old female who fell.

5:12 p.m. — Ambulance to Main and Spring streets; Orange responding and transported female having difficulty breathing to Athol Hospital.

5:15 p.m. — Report of low hanging wire, Ivy Drive at Pleasant Street. Message left for Spectrum.

5:27 p.m. — Illegal burn. Report of neighbor burning an old cabinet full of dog feces, Cottage Street. No one outside watching it. Officer on scene.

6:06 p.m. — New Sherborn Road party in lobby seeking advice from officer about an issue daughter is having at school.

6:20 p.m. — Report of suspicious vehicle, Silver Lake Street.

6:26 p.m. — Party reporting a sinkhole starting to form in last two hours, in area of construction on Marble Street. Orange cone placed marking it for vehicles.

6:59 p.m. — Suspicious person, Pleasant Street. Caller reporting male party around his stone wall for a couple hours. Wearing dark clothes and is possibly driving a black jeep. Found male metal detecting area of sidewalk already dug up for construction.

7:19 p.m. — Ambulance to Allen Street for 6-year-old male having epileptic seizure.

8:35 p.m. — Party in lobby to report his Social Security Number has been compromised.

9:14 p.m. — Officer off with a suspicious vehicle reported at Silver Lake Beach. Party in black Honda SE Civic sent on way.

9:39 p.m. — Ambulance to Main Street, caller states his dad passed out and when he woke up was complaining he couldn’t move and was having chest pain.

9:44 p.m. — Noise complaint, Lake Street. Report of teenagers being loud and partying with no adult supervision.

Tuesday, June 4

2:20 a.m. — Officer to Park Street; Shelburne Control requesting a welfare check on an individual making Q5 statements. Montague police requesting to continue to BOLO for male party. Not located in Athol. Montague officer called back to report subject was located.

2:45 a.m. — Suspicious person, Union Street. Officer out with a subject at Fish Park who stated he was waiting on a friend. Contact made with his friend. All appeared in order.

8:11 a.m. — Caller reporting vehicle driving fast, tailgaiting and not stopping at stop signs, South Main Street and Brookside Road. Last seen heading past McDonald’s toward Route 2.

8:33 a.m. — Staff from school requesting assistance for third grade student who took off from school, Pleasant Street. Last seen heading toward the field, has casts on both arms. Officer located male in woods.

8:38 a.m. — Visiting nurse onscene at Pleasant Street requesting ambulance for male.

9:50 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Main Street. Operator advised she needs to remove the studded snow tires.

10:26 p.m. — Tower Road, caller reporting vehicle driving fast; not stopping for people in the crosswalk at Market Basket. Officer spoke with operator. She stated it was a misunderstanding and apologized.

11:10 a.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Silver Lake Street and West Royalston Road. Owner requested Dale’s Auto.

11:17 a.m. — Fire alarm, Crescent Street. Emergency security calling for zone 1 general alarm. Officer assisted with traffic control.

12:11 p.m. — Elevator activation, no answer when talking, Main Street. Party stuck in elevator, fire department able to open.

12:57 p.m. — Ambulance to Concort Street. Female party stated yesterday she got a concussion and now she passed out.

1:05 p.m. — Cottage and Hapgood Street; call reporting vehicle parked in bad spot. Found vehicle on private property and lawfully parked.

1:26 p.m. — Motor vehicle accident, Brookside Road. A vehicle owned by Allied Waste Services of Mass. out of Chicopee, and a vehicle operated by Tyler W. Noyes, Sawin Lane, Erving were involved. 911 caller reporting he was sitting in his truck having lunch and someone ran into the side of him. No injuries, fluids leaking or airbag deployment. Information exchanged. Noyes cited for failure to use care when turning.

2:21 p.m. — Officer reporting while on another CFS he has a landlord-tenant dispute, Sanders Street. Both parties involved advised of court options.

3:55 p.m. — Walk-in to speak with officer about paper prescriptions that are either lost or stolen, Crescent Street. Party states between May 16 and today, she lost two handwritten prescriptions for hydrocodone issued by her doctor. Doctor advised her to report it to the police. The prescriptions cannot be filled until next week or next month. Also advised pharmacy.

4:11 a.m. — Ambulance to Main Street for 86-year-old male in and out of consciousness.

6:08 p.m. — Walk in to speak with officer about a vehicle he is supposed to have gotten back from his ex wife. Advised to go to court as it is a civil issue.

8:07 p.m. — Ambulance to Pleasant Street for male having stomach pain.

8:07 p.m. — Caller would like to speak with officer regarding the children from next door riding their bikes around cars in the parking lot. Parties sent on way, no issues.

8:12 p.m. — Suspicious activity, Sanders Street. Report of male party driving a brown and black Nissan with his 4-year-old son in the car, selling drugs. Area checked, unable to locate.

9:33 p.m. — Shore Drive caller dialed 911 for a welfare check of the upstairs neighbor that is snoring loudly. Ambulance responded to Shore Drive.

9:53 p.m. — Athol Fire requesting mutual aid ambulance to Green Street for highly intoxicated female party.

Wednesday, June 5

6:18 a.m. — Main Street caller requesting police assistance because he is scooter bound and the battery in his scooter is dead. Officer enroute to Pinedale Avenue to retrieve the caller’s scooter charger.
