9 a.m. — Duffy Putnum Memorial Kid’s Fishing Derby, at the Petersham Gun Club. Free admission. Derby is 9-10 a.m., ages 0 to 5; 10-11 a.m., ages 6-9; 11 to noon, ages 10-14. 12:30 chicken barbecue $8. Call to reserve tickets at 978-249-7445, or 508-847-7344. All are welcome.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Mother’s Day Craft Fair, Bates Crafters Gallery, Hillcrest Plaza, 90 New Athol Rd., Orange. Call for into: 774-530-1947.

11 a.m. — Annual children’s fish stocking by the Millers River Fisherman’s Association, will take place at the Alan E. Rich Environmental Park, South Main Street, Athol.

Monday, May 13

10:30-11:30 a.m. — Baby and Me Storytime: For children up to 36 months old. Songs, rhymes, bounces, a board book. Includes 45 minutes of informal playtime. Older and younger siblings welcome. Free. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange. 978-544-2495

3:30-4:30 p.m. — Read to Emmy the Dog: Sign your child up for a 15 minute session to read to Emmy, a certified and trained therapy dog. You may bring your own book or choose one from the library's collection. Call the library's Children's Room to make a reservation. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange, 978-544-2495.

3:30-4:30 p.m. — LEGO Club: Athol Public Library. Children in grades K-5 can drop in for LEGO Club. No registration necessary.

6:30 p.m. — The Dexter Park Chorus will present their Annual Spring Concert in the cafeteria of Dexter Park School, Orange. This group of select voices is directed by Helene Holmes and Debra Kent. The fourth, fifth and sixth graders have been rehearsing for several months, and invite you to come listen to their selections. Admission is free.

7-9 p.m. — Quabbin Valley Pro Musica chorus rehearsal, with Music Director Geoffrey Hudson, at the Central Congregational Church, 24 South Main St., New Salem. Info: Harry Haldt 978-249-4691.

Tuesday, May 14

10-11:30 a.m. — Playgroup: Children, from birth – 5 years old, and their caregivers, can meet to play in the Children’s Library at Athol Public Library. No registration necessary.

10:30-11:15 a.m. — Rise and Romp Storytime: For children ages 2 to 5 years old. Stories, songs, learn rhymes, dance, and make an easy craft. Older and younger siblings welcome. Free. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange, 978-544-2495.

4-6:30 p.m. — Story Walk: Story boards are set up in Millers River Park for people of all ages to read; afterward children can make a craft in the Children’s Library. In inclement weather, the story is set up inside the library. This program is made possible by Valuing Our Children of Athol. No registration necessary.

6-8 p.m. — Tuesday Tales Book Club Fiction: discussing Black Leopard, “Red Wolf” by Marlon James at the Moore-Leland Library, 172 Athol Road, Orange. Contact the Wheeler Memorial Library for more information, 978-544-2495.

6:30-8 p.m. — GriefShare Program, for community members who have experienced the death of a family member or friend, held at Crossroads Church, 109 Lumber St., Unit 2, Athol. To register or for more information call 978-830-0453.

7 p.m. — Celebrate Recovery: A 12-step program open to all seeking freedom from hurts, hang-ups and habits. The program meets Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the Athol-Orange Baptist Church, corner of Church and Walnut streets, Athol. For more information call Mike K. at 978-894-5960.
