Orange Police Log: June 12

12:15 a.m. — Party advises the tenants downstairs are banging around and making a lot of noise, Fairman Road. Ongoing issue. Party demands the police do something about it.

8:44 a.m. — Party states her 15-year-old daughter did not report to school this morning, Jones Cemetery Road. After further investigation, she was found to be on her bike in Warwick. An individual who found her returned her home where she was found with both mom and dad.

8:51 a.m. — Officer requesting warrant for past sexual assault, East River Street.

11:02 a.m. — Motor vehicle violation, East River Street.

3:24 p.m. — Officer responded for motor vehicle lockout, South Main Street. Entry Gained.

3:28 p.m. — Control advised a report of disturbance, East River Street. Officers responded and spoke with the reporting party and the involved party. Both officers stood by while reporting party called the doctor. Officers advised both parties to relax and try to understand each other. No emergency at this time.

4:37 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop, East River Street. Operator of the vehicle has a revoked license. 

5:14 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop, West River Street. Officer requests another unit, same has one detained. Operator given verbal warning for speeding.

5:58 p.m. — Welfare check, East Main Street. Officer made contact with all involved parties. There was a 12-year-old child in the vehicle with a cell phone with the ability to contact mother. The vehicle was also running with the air conditioning on. No issues found.

6:00 p.m. — Officer Bisceglia and K-9 Orka provided a K9 demonstration at the Market Basket Plaza for the North Quabbin Cruisers, Athol.

6:15 p.m. — Caller states a male party just left with a pocket full of cards and is refusing to come back into the store, East Main Street. Party left in a green Honda Accord and has taken a right out the parking lot back towards Orange. Lawrence J. Laffond, 48, of Pequoig Avenue, Athol, was arrested on charges of operating motor vehicle with license suspended, shoplifting by concealing merchandise, and disturbing the peace.

10:11 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop, South Main Street. Operator given a verbal warning for defective exhaust.
