Monday, Aug. 26

Noon to 1 p.m. — Booked for Lunch: Let’s Talk About Books round table, at the Athol Public Library. Discussion of best, and worst books read this year. Share recommendations and discuss if the best seller was worth waiting three months for, and also talk about the books that let us down. This roundtable discussion is open to everyone. Tuesday, Aug. 27

1-2 p.m. Tech Help Tuesdays, at the Athol Public Library. Have a question about your phone, tablet, or apps, etc? Ask the experts. Free, and open to the public. Walk-in, no registration required. 

4-7:30 p.m. — Story Walk® sponsored by Valuing Our Children. Sign boards with pages from books on them are set up along Millers River Park for participants to read at their own pace. Afterward, participants can do a fun activity in the Children's Library. No registration. All ages can participate.

5-7 p.m. — Mild Knights Chess Club, on the porch at Athol Public Library. Free and open to players of all skill levels. Challenge an experienced player, or learn to play.

6-8 p.m. — Tuesday Tales Book Club Non-Fiction: We will be discussing Spying on the South by Tony Horwitz at the Wheeler Memorial Library.  Contact the Wheeler Memorial Library for more information. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St., Orange, 978-544-2495

Wednesday, Aug. 28

10-11 a.m. — Blood pressure clinic, Lakeside Apartments, Athol. 

3:30-4:30 p.m. — Lego Club: For kids ages 5 to 12. Adults may build with their children. Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St., Orange, 978-544-2495

2-4 p.m. — Orange Historical Society, 41North Main St.,, Orange is open for tours of its three-story house and barn, or by appointment 978-544-3141.

5-8 p.m. — “Cruise Night” at Market Basket, 147 Tower Rd. Cars, trucks, customs and motorcycles of all types are welcome. Call 978-8959491 or 508-873-8490 in the case of inclement weather.
