BARRE — Barre Players announces its holiday musical, "Plaid Tidings,” by Stuart Ross, a holiday edition of “Forever Plaid.”

This brand new show offers the best of Forever Plaid, filled with Christmas. At first, Francis, Jinx, Smudge and Sparky aren't sure why they've returned to Earth for another posthumous performance, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they're needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. Sprinkled among the Christmas offerings are audience favorites, like their three-minute-and-eleven-second version of The Ed Sullivan Show – this time, featuring the Rockettes, the Chipmunks and The Vienna Boys Choir, as well as a Plaid Caribbean Christmas that puts the "Day-O" in Excelsis.

Vocal and musical arrangements are by James Raitt, Brad Ellis, Raymond, David Snyder. Musical continuity and supervision by David Snyder. Original direction and musical staging by Stuart Ross. Directed and choreographed by Meg Norton. Musical direction by James Joinville.

Performances are Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays, Dec. 7 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays, Dec. 8 and 15 at 2 p.m. at the Barre Players Theater, 64 Common St. Tickets are $20, $15 for senior citizens (age 65+) and children (age 12 and younger). For reservations, visit barreplayerstheater.com or call 978.355.2096.
