Office hours for the Council on Aging off are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Closed on Fridays.


Saturday, Nov. 2 — Paint & Sip with Alice Mauck, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., to benefit the Friends of the Council on Aging. $40 per person; $35 for seniors 60 and older. Must sign up by Oct. 26 in the elder outreach office. Check or money order may be sent to Alice Mauck, 7 Church St., Gardner MA 01440.

Wednesday, Nov. 6 — Brian Guagnini, Senior Plan Sales Exec. for Fallon Health will be at the Senior Center from 10 a.m. to noon. No appointment necessary.

Thursday, Nov. 14 — Orange Foot Clinic, 8 a.m.

Saturday, Nov. 16 — Community breakfast, 7:30 to 10 a.m., blueberry or plain pancakes, Denver scrambled braid, fresh fruit, fresh pastries with coffee, tea, juice. $5 adults, $2.50 for children 5 and under.

Wednesday, Nov. 20 — Popcorn and a movie, Chevy Chase in “Funny Farm,” sponsored by the Friends of the Council on Aging, 1 p.m. Popcorn and juice served.

Thursday, Dec. 12 — Orange Foot Clinic, 8 a.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 5 — Chicken Divan

Thursday, Nov. 7 — No meal.

Tuesday, Nov. 12 — Sloppy Joe’s

Thursday, Nov. 14 — Olive Garden Soup/Salad

Tuesday, Nov. 19 — Mini Cheddar meatloaf

Thursday, Nov. 21 — Thanksgiving dinner.

Tuesday, Nov 26 — Shepard’s pie.


GO Cards

The Orange COA has received a small grant for fixed RTE’s or Demand Response FRTA Go Cards. Call 978-544-3481 to apply. Applicants must meet the following criteria: be an Orange resident, 60 years or older who currently feels/is alone or isolated; complete an application (priority will be given to new applicants); live alone and not have access to social events or programs or a private means of transportation; would like to shop or visit events in Athol/Orange/Greenfield or take part in COA events and meals at the armory.

Franklin Regional Transit AuthorityNew Service Hours

Service hours for Demand Response have been expanded for the towns of Orange, New Salem, Warwick and Wendell to Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Greenfield, Gill, Montague, Leyden, Deerfield and Whately service hours increased Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information contact FRTA at 413-774-2262 or 413-773-8090.
