Athol Police Log: June 14-15

Friday, June 14

8:36 a.m. — Possible intoxicated female driving vehicle, South Main Street. Officer unable to locate the vehicle.

9:11 a.m. — Dog always barking, Brattle Street.

9:31 a.m. — Party wanted to know why her brother listed her address in Athol on his Sex Offender Registry Board paperwork, Exchange Street. Advised her to contact Fall River PD to inquire since the brother resides in their town.

9:31 a.m. — Caller requesting to speak with an officer about her vehicle being used on social media, Exchange Street. Advised to call Turners Falls PD as the caller lives in that jurisdiction.

9:39 a.m. — Sex offender registration, Sanders Street. Completed without incident.

9:59 a.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, Mystery Lane. Templeton officer on scene.

10:38 a.m. — Caller requesting call back from Animal Control Officer about previous issues with neighbor’s animals, Bearsden Road.

11:24 a.m. — Caller reporting a Athol-Orange Driving School vehicle not yielding correctly on Route 91 North in Greenfield and then using excessive speed on Route 2 East, Main Street. Advised that the school is closed at this time. Dispatch was able to make contact with the business owner and advised him.

1:59 p.m. — Party into the station to report a pot of flowers taken from in front of stone, Silver Lake Street. Party stated they were there June 12.

2:16 p.m. — Caller reporting the second house in on the street that is for sale has open doors and windows, Riverbend Street. Bank contractor working on property.

2:42 p.m. — Party calling for a well being check on her daughter with whom she has not spoken to for some time, Sanders Street. Spoke with daughter and message delivered.

3:50 p.m. – Ambulance to Gibson Drive for 68-year-old male.

4:11 p.m. – Ambulance for 65-year-old female patient needing transport to the hospital.

4:11 p.m. – Caller states there is a van a few vehicles ahead of him that keeps going over the center line, Main Street. Checked area, unable to locate.

4:18 p.m. – Walk-in would like to speak to an officer about her father not allowing her to pick up her belongings, Craigin Street. Party was told to make arrangements after the weekend to pick up her belongings after a cooling off period. Also advised to let APD know so that an officer can be sent to keep the peace.

6:02 p.m. – Party in the lobby states her 18-year-old stepdaughter is moving in to her residence and the mother has a history of erratic, violent behavior, Exchange Street. Party is concerned that mother may come to residence and cause problems. Officer advised party to call if mother shows up at residence and to not go outside until police arrive.

6:07 p.m. – Ambulance to Summit Avenue for a 62-year-old female.

6:19 p.m. – Caller stated a male in black shorts and a white tank top jumped the fence and she is unsure of what he is doing, Morton Meadows. Upon arrival, located individual in the river on the opposite river bank. Subject was recently released from prison and thought police were looking for him. PD had been parked in front of his residence on an unrelated call. Officer made contact with subject, escorted him out of the woods and transported him back to his residence.

7:05 p.m. – Debit card turned in.

7:17 p.m. – Caller reporting a large group of people fighting, Park Avenue and Central Street. Parties advised of rights and sent on way.

9:45 p.m. – State Police relaying information regarding an erratic operator last seen pulling into gas station parking lot, Main Street. Officers checked area, unable to locate.

10:40 p.m. – Advised party of no trespass options at Orange District Court, Prospect Street.

10:49 p.m. – Subject in lobby to report she found her apartment door open and marks on the door, Exchange Street. Spoke with party, no entry gained. Concerned due to recent issue at apartment.

11:16 p.m. – RN from a Texas facility requesting a wellness check on a male under their supervision stating that he is feeling more suicidal than usual, Oakland Avenue. Male party voluntarily was transported to Athol Hospital for evaluation.

11:29 p.m. – 911 call for a medical emergency, Green Street. Assisted AFD.

Saturday, June 15

1:13 a.m. – Subject calling about parties yelling inside of a house, when he went to ask them to keep it down they told him to go away, Orange Street. Advised parties to quiet it down for the night. Subjects turned their music off prior to officers leaving.

1:34 a.m. – Officer flagged down by two individuals, Exchange Street. Husband stating that his wife was almost abducted. BOLO sent out to surrounding towns. Both parties in lobby to write statements. BOLO canceled, vehicle located.

3 a.m. – Officer spotted an open door to the treatment plant, Jones Street. The entrance gate is secure. Contacted the Water Department.
