Athol Police Log: Aug. 15

Thursday, Aug. 15

10:26 a.m. — Fredette Street. Walk-in to speak to officer; advised of options.

10:32 a.m. — Fire alarm, Chestnut Hill Avenue. Pumper and aerial ladder sent.

11:26 a.m. — Petersham Road, nurse requesting ambulance for patient; would like him sent to rule out dehydration.

12:19 p.m. — Gardner Police requesting Athol BOLO for party and vehicle involved in a property damage incident in their town. Officer checked residence for vehicle; not there.

12:55 p.m. — Fire alarm activation called in by alarm company, Main Street. Assisted fire department with traffic.

1:16 p.m. — Pleasant Street. Party to speak with officer about being threatened by someone in town. States two people have been threatened by him. Advised of possible Harassment Prevention Orders if it continues.

1:27 p.m. — Party requesting to speak with officer, Silver Lake Beach. Officer spoke with lifeguard, determined there were no issues.

1:42 p.m. — Report of vehicle parked on the sidewalk, School Street. Parking ticket issued.

2:41 p.m. — Drury Avenue caller requesting information regarding evicting a party.

3:40 p.m. — Party would like to pick up his vehicle, 209A in effect, Glen Street. Spoke with party, advised this should not be an issue and to call when he plans to have vehicle towed.

4:08 p.m. — Officer conducting follow-up investigation, Main Street. Citation served in hand.

4:36 p.m. — Motor vehicle accident, Templeton Road. Vehicles operated by Evie K. Collins, Chase Road, Athol, and Sara R. Goodwin, Cross Road, Fitzwilliam, NH were involved. Police note that the Goodwin vehicle rear-ended the Collins vehicle. Goodwin was cited with failure to use care in stopping. Collins was cited for operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle,  and the vehicle was towed.

5:56 p.m. — Suspicious activity, Fielding Way. Subject to station to report a male party exposed himself to her at the cemetery this morning. Advised there will be extra patrols in the area of the cemetery.

6:21 p.m. — Subject to lobby to make anonymous tip regarding drug activity. 

6:35 p.m. — Caller requesting help with his scooter that is stuck inside the store next door, Main Street. Officers helped party bring scooter to library for the night and transported party to residence.

6:54 p.m. — Report of ongoing neighbor issue; adult neighbor is harassing and yelling at children, Adah Street. Spoke with caller who stated her neighbor yelled at her 5-year-old playing in the backyard with their dog. Subject apologized for yelling at the 5-year-old but said he was throwing dirt at the dog. Caller advised.

7:33 p.m. — Caller requesting well being check on his fiance and her roommates who he has been unable to reach since Saturday, Kennebunk Street. House was secure and appeared empey with no vehicles in the driveway.

7:57 p.m. — Report of child bitten by a cat, Cottage Street.

8:28 p.m. — South Main Street; subject to station to report harassing text messages.

8:55 p.m. — Report of kids in the park, Lake Street. Sent on way.

10:08 p.m. — Athol Animal Control Officer notified to respond to Brookside Road for a small dog.
