Athol Police Log: March 9-10

3:06 p.m. — Report of individual with no trespass order at property, South Main Street. Male party placed under arrest for trespassing and two warrants from Orange District Court. Richard K. Pierson, 62, of Fountain Street, Orange, was transported to station for booking.

3:30 p.m. — Officer requesting ambulance for male party with a laceration to his arm, Exchange Street.

3:31 p.m. — Caller seeking assistance with an individual who won’t leave property, Brown Street. Advised of eviction process. No issues.

4:41 p.m. — Walk-in to station returned rent check found on Main Street.

5:27 p.m. — Motor vehicle stopped on Daniel Shays Highway for speeding. Warning given.

5:53 p.m. — Motor vehicle strop, Silver Lake Street.

6:04 p.m. — Report of car sideswiped, Pine and South streets. Vehicle took off.

6:24 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop on Silver Lake Street for failing to obey stop sign. Written warning issued.

6:52 p.m. — Parking complaint checked, Shore Drive.

7:27 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop, School Street. Verbal warning for loud exhaust.

7:40 p.m. — Officer stopped a motorist on Main street after observing them texting. Verbal warning.

8:04 p.m. — Male party making suicidal statements; provided courtesy transport to the hospital.

8:23 p.m. — Warning issued for speeding, Main Street.

8:49 p.m. — 911 caller reporting neighbor has a light above their garage and it lights up her house and they are having a dispute about it, Froman Street. Second caller reporting his neighbor came out and was harassing him over a light. Officers restored peace.

9:13 p.m. — Written warning issued for defective tail light, Main and Green streets.

9:34 p.m. — Motor vehicle stop, Main Street; warning issued for defective headlight.

9:40 p.m. — Grove Street, vehicle stopped.

(Missing shift, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Will print when available.)

3:33 p.m. — Responded to vehicle that slid on slush-covered road into a tree, West Royalston Road. Single car operated by Rebecca A. Caranci, Winter Street, Barre. No injuries. Vehicle towed.

6:17 p.m. — Welfare check requested, Earl Drive. Subject was home and fine.

7:18 p.m. — Assisted other agency, Templeton Road. Marlborough Police requested officer contact a parent. Located mother’s name from neighbor; located a number in house.

7:23 p.m. — Welfare check, Crescent Street; for party who has a history of suicidal statements and refusing to follow through with the plan made for respite care. No threats to harm herself or anyone else. Officer spoke with female, no issues.Someone is staying with her.

7:33 p.m. — High Street caller requesting to speak with officer regarding his wife’s ex coming to the home, throwing a snowball at the door, and moving the grill on the deck. Officer spoke with parties. Ex showed up to drop off daughter, started throwing snowballs at the house and moved the grill to the middle of the driveway. Past issues between parties.

8:52 p.m. — Medical emergency, Daniel Shays Highway.

8:56 p.m. — Medical emergency, Liberty Street.

10:20 a.m. — Allen Street party requested to speak with officer about contractor issue. States contractor was at his house a day prior to their appointment to meet.

11:13 a.m. — South Main street caller states his computer was hacked and his personal identity info was taken. Concerned hackers may have accessed his personal information. Party states a screen popped up demanding payment for the virus, but party did not provide any payment. Advised to contact Social Security and have a computer tech look into the issue.

11:17 a.m. — Motor vehicle crash, Orange Street. Vehicle operated by Diana Newton, North Fitzwilliam Road, Royalston. Caller reported she backed up into a parked car from a driveway, striking unoccupied vehicle owned by Wilhelmina C. Lewis, Marquette Street, Gardner.

12:25 p.m. — Report of low hanging branch, Pinedale Avenue. Message left for Department of Public Works and tree warden. Stood by until branch could be handled. DPW took care of tree.

1:53 p.m. — Officer located party on ground next to his motorized scooter within the parking lot attempting to fix a flat tire. Officer assisted and subject went on way.

2:23 p.m. — Caller reports vehicle at end of driveway has been sitting there about 20 minutes, Cobb Road. Vehicle gone on arrival.

2:27 p.m. — Bigelow Road caller requesting call back from officer about a vehicle driving fast past him while he was in a crosswalk at Market Basket.

3:21 p.m. — Accident, Main Street. A vehicle operated by George F. Duplessis, Lincoln Avenue, Athol, backing up out of a parking spot, did not see an Impala operated by Conrad H. Stange, Mount Pleasant Street, Athol, traveling through the parking lot. Stange attempted to warn Duplessis with the vehicle horn but was unable to in time. Duplessis’ Silverado hitch collided with the Impala leaving damage to the front end (hood and grill). No damage to the Duplessis vehicle.

3:26 p.m. — Pleasant Street caller claiming someone has touched her mail and got her bank info.

4:33 p.m. — Abandoned 911 call, Brookside Road. Party stopped in the lobby; everything is all set. Phone problems.

5:05 p.m. — Party requesting officer at Summer Street in regard to him getting his child from the babysitter. Officer viewed paperwork indicating father had court ordered visitation tonight. Babysitter advised of same. Daughter went with father.

5:17 p.m. — Motor vehicle crash, Chestnut Hill Avenue. Vehicles operated by Randy C. Sawin, Oak Drive, Orange, and Virgilio Romero, Clyde Street, Chelsea, involved in minor accident.

5:27 p.m. — Ambulance to Ridge Avenue for unresponsive female party, CPR going in process. Officer administered Narcan and assisted with ambu bag and subject regained awareness. Athol fire took over care upon arrival. Transported to Athol Hospital.

5:53 p.m. — Ambulance requested at Reservoir Drive for 70-year-old female with altered mental status. Female conscious and alert, just confused.

6:13 p.m. — Medical emergency, Pleasant Street. Section 12 paperwork for female party. Cooperative.

6:50 p.m. — Caller reporting a male pushing a shopping cart in middle of South Athol Road. Concerned for party’s safety. Party stated she was walking to the Executive Inn in Orange. Advised her to stay closer to the side of the road to prevent from being hit by a vehicle.

7:31 p.m. — Officer conducting follow-up investigation Crescent Street. Requesting ambulance. Juvenile placed under Section 12. Due to patient refusing to go to hospital and fighting officers and medics, Athol Fire Department requested officer present for ride up to the hospital. Assisted.

7:39 p.m. — Officer requesting ambulance for missing child that has been found, Crescent Street.

8:11 p.m. — D Street caller reporting sewage backing up into basement. DPW notified.

8:54 p.m. — Beacon Street; party in lobby to speak with officer regarding ongoing domestic issue. Party looking for assistance with wife. Ongoing issue with drinking and yelling at family when intoxicated. No physical altercation. He was given options.

9:47 p.m. — Fish Street party calling for 53-year-old female having possible heart attack.

10:05 p.m. — Drug law violation, Main Street. Drug activity in business. Partial plate given and party wearing a brown sweatshirt. Officer will be on the lookout for vehicle. Party drove back by reporting party and stated he was going to break all the glass in the windows of the business overnight after he locks up and goes home. Officer spoke with party who stated prior employee was harassing him. Officer advised him to seek a no trespass and Harassment Prevention Order the following day at the courthouse.
