10 a.m. to 6 p.m. — Customer Appreciation Day at Ron’s Fuel, 575 South Main St., Athol. Free hotdogs (11-2p.m., 4-6p.m.), Ed the Wizard will perform a magic show at 5, raffles and giveaways. Info: 978-249-3548.

Friday, Sept. 13

9:30-Noon — Story Walk sponsored by Valuing Our Children. Sign boards with pages from books on them are set up along Millers River Park for participants to read at their own pace. Afterward, participants can do a fun activity in the Children’s Library. No registration. All ages can participate.

3-6 p.m. — Petersham Friday Market provides fresh locally grown food, craft vendors, information from health care and social service groups and live music on the town common. Saturday, Sept. 14

8 a.m. to 5 p.m., — Third Annual Royalston Country Fair, at Bullock Park in Royalston Center (in back of the Post Office) rain or shine. Pancake breakfast 8-10:30; children’s activities, face painting, photo booth, crafts, Historical Society building open for tours, vegetable/flower contest at 1 p.m., music by the Williams Brothers, food and vendors.

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — North Quabbin Fall Festival, downtown Athol.

7-10 p.m. — Evening of Blues with the Barrett Anderson Band (Boston Music Awards, 2013 Blues Artist of the Year), at the Athol Historical Society, 1307 Main St., Athol. Free admission. Beer and wine will be served.
