Orange Police Log: June 19

Wednesday, June 19

7:39 a.m. — Loose dog, downtown area.

7:54 a.m. — Call to station reporting a male party slumped over the steering wheel, Old Hickory road. Vehicle located and driver found to be sleeping inside as they were kicked out of the apartment.

8:29 a.m. — Request for welfare check, East River Street. Officer off with female party who has made Q5 statements. Female advised she did not make suicidal statement but did state she was going to be “gone” in regard to leaving the house.

9:39 a.m. — Officer reportings broken glass on the ground in the area of swing set, South Main Street. Highway superintendent advised.

11:12 a.m. — Harrison Avenue; caller asked to speak to officer regarding a phone call she received, believed to be a scam. When caller asked if she could hear them, she replied yes, and they hung up. Number provided came back to a medical office. Caller advised to monitor her bank account for any strange activity

2:03 p.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, East Main Street. Complaint of road rage incident in the center of town by Cumberland Farms. Found to be misunderstanding between operators in regard to a horn being used as it was neither of them.

3:34 pm. — Report of suspicious vehicle, Putnam Street. Report of a silver Hyundai Elantra parked in area for about an hour and there are two parties inside that don’t appear to be moving. Officer spoke with occupants and they are all set.  Advised they are homeless.

3:35 p.m. — Report of an 11-year-old runaway, white female, long blonde hair, blue eyes, 4’5”, wearing a koala hat and light-up shoes, headed toward Butterfield Park. Officer spoke with subject who indicated child has been located. Officer made contact with child’s mother.

5:18 p.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, Stone Road. Caller reporting four wheelers driving up and down the road, doing doughnuts. Officer spoke with parties involved about laws regarding operation of recreational vehicles on public ways. They advised the ATVs were being put away.

6:27 p.m. — Officers to South Main Street address to locate a female party with an active warrant. Arrested Ashley A. Kennedy, 30, of South Main Street, Orange, on the warrant. She was transported to the police station for booking, and then to the Franklin County House of Correction.

9:14 p.m. — Officer and K9 Orka on foot patrol in the center of town for community policing.

9:31 p.m. — Party requests a phone call regarding information on theft of guns and jewelry.
