Orange Police: Dec 30-Jan 1

Sunday, Dec. 30

1:13 a.m. — Vehicle stopped, East Main Street. Verbal warning for defective headlight.

1:24 a.m. — Officer observed vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on East Main Street, area of Pete’s Tire Barns, westbound. Officer advised vehicle has crashed into telephone pole at East Main and Whitney streets; passenger detained, driver took off running northbound. K9 searched area. Orange Ambulance requested; Evaluated for injuries; patient refused. Driver detained on Jones Street and returned to the scene. National Grid notified. Arrested Cody R. Wilkey, 25, of Eagleville Road, Orange, on charge of speeding, leaving the scene of accident/property damage; operating a motor vehicle with suspended license.

10:41 a.m. — Caller advises his vehicle was struck in parking lot at Walmart. Other vehicle involved still on scene. No apparent damage found. Both parties sent on way.

2:35 p.m. — Caller on Route 2 reports blue Jeep behind her, flipping her off and riding her bumper. She is having anxiety as she has her infant in the car with her. State Police reports conflicting stories.

3:15 p.m. — Report of vandalism, East River Street. Investigated. Rocks thrown through window. Officer called Leisure Woods and left message about damage.

4:18 p.m. — Report of two small children playing near the big pipe of the Lake Rohunta dam, Daniel Shays Highway. Party advised of concern.

6:47 p.m. — State police requesting officer meet trooper a the Shell Station off Exit 16 to assist with a probation warrant search.

6:49 p.m. — Accident, East Main street. Caller advises vehicle struck parked vehicle and took off. Officer responding found hit and run accident occurred with two parked cars damaged. Reports taken and incident under investigation.

7:22 p.m. — UMass Police report they have subject at their facility, making threats and claims to have two firearms at his residence, East River Street. Found to have expired License To Carry. Officer spoke with subject who had PCA go to the residence and bring the firearms to the station for safekeeping.

11:20 p.m. — Barking dog complaint, Hayden and East Myrtle streets. Both units responded and stayed in area for a period of time with not a single bark heard.

Monday, Dec. 31

12:02 a.m. — Vehicle stopped for speeding, Route 78 and West Orange Road. Verbal warning issued.

12:45 a.m. — Report of chocolate Lab running around East Main Street area.

3:34 a.m. — Medical emergency, Stone Valley Road.

5:54 a.m. — Medical emergency, East River Street.

8:29 a.m. — Traffic stop, East River Street. Warning for speeding.

8:30 a.m. — Caller reporting someone tried to pry open back door of his business, East Main Street. Officer able to see the attempt. Party will install security camera.

8:39 a.m. — Caller requesting assistance with repossession, East River Street. He made contact with female but she is very upset. Both units stood by while vehicle was removed.

9:50 a.m. — Old South Road caller reporting sometime in the past week approximately 38 oxycodone pills were stolen from her house. She had prescription filled just before she went to the hospital.

10:10 a.m. — Report of a suspended operator driving on West River Street heading toward Route 2. Unoccupied vehicle located in front of West River Street residence. No answer at the door.

10:37 a.m. - Motor vehicle violation, Partridgeville Road. Officer located vehicle in question and operator on Daniel Shays Highway, and attempted to stop operator. Operator stopped and driver was uncooperative; officer called for backup. VEhicle inventoried. Operator arrested was Jonathan P. Enders, 41, of Brickyard Road, Athol, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with suspended license, failure to stop for police officer, speeding, operating at speed exceeding posted limit.

2:55 p.m. — Shoplifting by concealing merchandise, East Main Street. Male was identified and trespassed from the store.

3:34 p.m. — Caller reports there is a 3-year-old with a blue coat running in and out of the road, South Main street across from Witty’s. Officer found mother and two kids on a walk in the area. No issue found.

5:21 p.m. — Athol Police en route back to their town stopped a vehicle for having no tail lights and very dim headlights, Daniel Shays Highway. Operator was escorted home and advised to fix the issue before continuing to drive.

5:55 p.m. — Stop sign violation, Old South Road. Operator given verbal warning.

6:11 p.m. — Officer flagged down by male party in East Main Street parking lot advising he locked his keys in his running Subaru Forester with dog inside. Entry gained.

6:41 p.m. — Medical emergency, East Main Street.

8:40 p.m. — Medical emergency, Prospect Street.

9:47 p.m. — Report of two cars pulled off side of road, Route 2. Transferred to state police.

10:28 p.m. — Report of fireworks going off, Cheney Street. Believed to be from Starry, Starry Night celebration.

11:33 p.m. — suspicious vehicle, East River Street, behind the building. Officer spoke with two individuals who stated they were just looking for a place to talk in private.No signs of illegal activity. Same advised to stay off the premises and sent on way.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

1:56 a.m. — Officer off with a highly intoxicated party, Bacon Street. Transported to Howe Street. Officer will be en route to the Athol Town line to drop off the party to father.

9:07 a.m. — Caller requests officer for dog that attacked his vehicle, East River Street. Advised it is not the first time. Damage was found to the passenger side of vehicle. Party advised he is not sure why this happened the second time as his dog bolted from his vehicle when he got to the dog park.

9:27 a.m. — Disabled motor vehicle, flat tire, East River Street. Operator calling AAA. Vehicle off road, not a hazard.

3:27 p.m. — Lifeline activated, Red Brook Lane.

5:18 p.m. — 911 call received from Bearsden Road. Female states, “it wants me to leave a message” and hung up. 911-only phone.

5:38 p.m. — Medical emergency, Warwick Road.

6:41 p.m. — Missing person, East Main Street. Officer checking for the subject from APD’s earlier Fox Messenger message to surrounding towns to BOLO of a missing person. No other information available.

6:46 p.m. — Animal complaint, Red Brook Lane. Siberian husky at corner of East River and Red Brook is scaring the residents. One lady stuck in her car because the dog is around. Officer advised he was able to get a leash on the dog and is walking it home.

7:10 p.m. — Report of shots fired, Bacon Street. Caller reports is sounds like a couple gunshots and women screaming. Caller cannot make out what they are saying. Officers responded and found it to be on Howe Street; subjects setting off fireworks/sparklers they felt were legal. They will cease the noise.

7:28 p.m. — Warning issued to motorist stopped on West Main Street for red light violation.

9:57 p.m. — Medical emergency, East River Street.
