The U.S. Postal Service has announced that the first stamp issue for 2019 will be a Love themed forever stamp to debut on January 10.

The cost for mailing a first class letter is scheduled to increase from the current 50 cents to 55 cents on January 27, so stock up on forever stamps if you do a lot of regular mailing.

With the recent passing of the late President George H.W. Bush, there will probably be a stamp issued in his memory sometime in 2019. Traditionally, a stamp is issued by the U.S. Postal Service on the birth anniversary following the late president's death.

There are no nearby coin or stamp shows this coming weekend.

The U.S. Mint will begin the new year with eighteen products due in the month of January, including several gift sets going on sale January 3. Other issues for January include a proof silver eagle, and three coins noting the fiftieth anniversary of the first moon landing.

The first National Park Quarter for 2019, the one for the Lowell, MA park, is not due to be issued until early February.
