4 to 5 p.m. — Creative play, Children, ages 9-13 years old, can register to build with the Library’s KNEX kits, Athol Public Library. This program is made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners; registration required.
11-11:30 a.m. — Baby & Toddler Time, Athol Public Library: Caregivers and little ones listen to stories, sing, move, socialize, and play. This program is for children up to 36 months; no registration necessary.
3:30-5 p.m. — Wild Knights Chess Club, in the TeenSpace at Athol Public Library with David Price. Beginners welcome. Grades 4-12. Call 978-249-9515 to sign up.
Friday, December 28th
3:30-5 p.m. — Wii gaming in the TeenSpace at Athol Public Library, for grades 5-12. No registration required. Mari Party, Super Smash Bros, Wii sports, Just Dance and more.
9:30 a.m. to noon — Story Walk: Story boards are set up in Millers River Park for people of all ages to read; afterward children can make a craft in the Children’s Library, Athol Public Library. In inclement weather, the story is set up inside the library. This program is made possible by Valuing Our Children of Athol. No registration necessary.
4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Minecraft and Roblox Club: Children in grades 3 and 4 can register to play Minecraft and Roblox, Athol Public Library.
6:30 p.m. — Fourth Friday Film Series: in the Reading Room of the Wheeler Memorial Library, 49 East Main St, Orange. Free movie on the big screen "Encounters at the End of the World" a documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Werner Herzog. Grove Street doors open at 6:15 p.m. for the feature film. Info: 978-544-2495.
