Wednesday, Nov. 14

12:07 a.m. — Officers stopped vehicle on North Main Street due to the registered owner having a suspended license as well as the vehicle not having an inspection sticker. A 39-year-old operator of Gardner will be summoned to court on charge of operating a motor vehicle after license suspended and no inspection sticker.

12:40 a.m. — Traffic stop, East Road. Verbal warning issued for not having an inspection sticker.

1:01 a.m — Operator stopped on East River Street given verbal warning for improper use of auxiliary lighting.

1:16 a.m. — Operator stopped on New Athol Road for speeding and defective exhaust. Verbal warning issued.

1:24 a.m. — Traffic stop, Daniel Shays Highway. Operator given verbal warning for marked lanes violation and speeding.

4:35 a.m. — Medical emergency, East River Street.

8:44 a.m. — East Main Street caller reports neighbor has not been home for days and back door is wide open. On arrival, apartment checked, no one home and all appeared in order. Neighbor made contact with resident who advised they were on their way home tonight. Door blown open by wind.

8:51 a.m — Report of tree down in Hayden Street location. No wires down, no apparent damage noticed. Orange Fire Department contacted to remove the tree.

8:53 a.m. — Mass. Department of Corrections requests police contact party at Whitney Street to inform her subject is being released today. Responded to address and informed by current homeowners the female no longer lives there. Owner stated they bought the house about ten years ago and does not know where the party currently lives.

9:12 a.m. — Safety hazard reported, West Myrtle Street. Tree limb down across the road and on the secondary wire. Road shut down until National Grid arrived for removal. Electric company secured area. Officer advised an off-duty National Grid worker came by and removed it partially off the road, and will contact supervisor with update.

10:51 a.m. — Report of wires down, Burrill Avenue. Old casing from a fire alarm cable. Same removed without incident.

12:41 p.m. — Burglar alarm, Warwick Road. Both units responded and checked area. All exterior doors locked. Barn sliding door was partially open; officers checked inside and found nothing suspicious.Door secured on way out.

1:15 p.m. — 911 hangup call, Stone Valley Road. On call back female stated 1-year-old playing with phone. Confirmed accidental.

1:16 p.m. — Traffic stop, New Athol Road, expired registration. Owner/operator attempted roadside renewal, failed due to Registry of Motor VEhicles issue. Officer gave courtesy transport to female and small child to Stone Valley. Verbal warning issued. Owner will figure out the renewal process as soon as possible.

3:01 p.m. — Report of fraud, East Main Street, involving a dog purchased from North Carolina. Caller has spoken with Charlotte-Mecklenburg police department and is waiting for call back. Party is out $600 sent to purchase a dog.

3:08 p.m. — East River Street caller advises lines down, no arcing or sparking. Officer assessed the scene, small pole down with wire. National Grid contacted and handled. Park manager updated, hazard removed.

4:55 p.m. — Officer was flagged down by party reporting motorist down on Daniel Shays Highway. OFD started as a precaution, then ambulance was canceled. Officer unable to locate party.

5:50 p.m. — Stolen vehicle. North Main Street caller reports nephew took a car belonging to  grandmother without permission some time within the last hour. 2017 Black Ford Escape. Party stated it’s possible he headed toward Athol. Athol Police notified. Vehicle is leased. Caller unable to obtain plate number. Later called and advised subject is back with the vehicle.

7:59 p.m. — Panic alarm coming from pharmacy, East Main Street. Found it was set off accidentally by employee.

8:01 p.m. — Traffic stop, East Main Street for defective equipment (both plate lights). Verbal warning issued.

11:14 p.m. — Medical emergency, Oaklawn Avenue.

11:26 p.m. — Burglar alarm, Gov. Dukakis Drive. Front storage motion detected. Checked; building secure.
