Orange Police: Jan. 16-17

Wednesday, Jan. 16

12:27 a.m. — Verbal warning for vehicle with defective equipment, Daniel Shays Highway.

12:27 a.m. — Check welfare, East Main street. Caller advises there was a black male at the Cumberlands asking for money and homeless shelter. Said he wanted to get out of area. Officer spoke with male who said he was fine. He was told not to continue to ask people for money.

8:16 a.m. — Vehicle stopped for expired inspection, North Main. Verbal warning.

12:19 p.m. — Report of intoxicated male in the traffic lane, East Main Street. Caller reports male walking west on 2A in area of Anne’s Drive-In. Located party; not intoxicated. Has arthritis.

12:56 p.m. — Larceny, East Main street. Female apprehended for shoplifting, no ID.

1:10 p.m. — Check welfare, oaklawn Avenue. Checked welfare of children; concerns about stay-away order. DCF went out earlier today and his truck was in driveway but no one answered door. Subject not in school today. Officer reports lot of commotion in the house, no answer at door. Mother spoken with and all children present and fine. Truck was dropped off as her vehicle has a flat tire. DCF notified of findings.

1:53 p.m. — East Main Street party refusing to leave after a verbal disturbance.Wants male removed. Issue was mediated.

2:01 p.m. — Welfare check, East Main Street. Caller reports female with purple coat jumped in front of her vehicle, had to swerve to miss her. Officer spoke with subject who said she and male had a verbal argument and were all set.

2:25 p.m. — Motor vehicle accident, Grove Street. Dale’s en route for tow; National Grid advised of pole needing inspection.

3:27 p.m. — Report of a suspicious dark brown Jeep Cherokee operated by a male in a a “safety coat.” States Jeep has been driving around the block and the operator has been looking in people’s yards. Party works for Lewis Tree and is not from around here and was looking for a residence that has a freezer for sale. All set.

4:52 p.m. — Medical emergency, East River Street.

4;55 p.m. — Petersham Police requested to meet Orange officer for a case debrief, regarding ongoing case. Officer took over the case and will file charges. A 62-year-old from Petersham arrested on charges of intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official, and threatening to commit a crime.

5:02 p.m. — Report of vehicle that keeps circling the parking lot with a male inside, East Main Street. Male is making lewd gestures to female customers.

6:18 p.m. — East Main Street. Officer in center of town with vehicle and subject from earlier Walmart call. Arrested Jeremiah P. Wrath, 24, of North Main street, Orange, on charge of lewd, wanton and lascivious conduct. Transported to the station where ambulance was requested for prisoner complaining of chest pain. Prisoner transported to Athol Hospital, later back to the station and then to the House of Corrections.

7:15 p.m. — A 37-year-old Athol individual was arrested on charges of shoplifting, East Main Street. Had committed another shoplifting earlier on the same day. Charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise (third offense).

8:36 p.m. — Animal complaint, East Main Street. Black Cavalier with a dog in vehicle for length of time. Negative contact.

11:27 p.m. — Party at the Riverfront Park requesting to speak with officer regarding a male party she was speaking to; concerned about his living situation and other things he told her.

11:52 p.m. — Route 2 caller states he’s broken down with a bad alternator. State police advise operator will need a tow but his friend is en route with an AAA card. Jim’s Auto canceled on scene. Vehicle off road and not a hazard.

11:57 p.m. — Brielle M. Euvrard, 25, of East River Street, Orange, was arrested on South Main Street on a warrant. Transported to station; later bailed.

Thursday, Jan. 17

1:25 a.m. — Arrest, East River Street. Party had arrived at the station to bail out another party; found to have a warrant. Arrested Caitlyn E. Alisauskas, 21, of Oak Avenue, Athol.

2:23 a.m. — Vehicle stopped for no tail lights or plate lights on, Mechanic Street. Citation issued.

3:47 a.m. — Summons issued for 37-year-old charged with shoplifting by asportation, East Main Street.

5:20 a.m. — Motor vehicle accident, car vs. telephone pole, East Main Street. Caller reports crash in front of her house, male out of Jeep and walking around. Operator advised he fell asleep and hit pole and a parked motor vehicle. Citation issued. Dick’s called for tow; National Grid responded to replace pole. Road closed for period of time.

8:06 a.m. — Motor vehicle complaint, Battle Street. Motor vehicle blocking the travel lane near the detour area. Owner will move Jeep.

9:09 a.m. — Medical emergency, East River Street.

10:26 a.m. — Caller reporting female inside a small blue SUV is huffing from a can of some sort, East Main Street. Second call reporting a woman in blue Jeep Liberty in middle of the road. On arrival the individual was conscious. Orange Fire Dept/EMS contacted and the individual monitored until their arrival. The substance involved was industrial strength ultra duster. Patient, conscious and alert, inhaled 20 ounces of duster. Transported to Athol Hospital. Family member recovered the vehicle. Immediate threat paperwork forwarded to Registry of Motor Vehicles and criminal charges are pending for the 38-year-old from Athol on charges of inhaling toxic substance, and negligent operation of motor vehicle.

10:47 a.m. — Party requested officer to assist in retrieving a phone from caller’s daughter, East River Street. Retrieved.

11:13 a.m. — Officer requested by East River Street party who said her foot run over by subject. Caller states party was attempting to get her property back from subject; she refused to give it back and then left in her vehicle, running over foot. When asked if ambulance was needed she stated “no” they would put some ice on it. Officer requested ambulance as subject is only 17. Vehicle stopped on Daniel Shays Hwy; spoke to subject and passenger who explained how party was up on the step of the truck wanting to get a phone. Party rolled window slightly as she was afraid subject would hit her. Both said foot was not run over. Female was transported to Athol Hospital.

11:50 a.m. — Ambulance to Eagleville Road for medical emergency.

12:13 p.m. — Loose dog, East River Street. Animal control advised.

12:17 p.m. — Adams Street caller reporting gray fox laying under bedroom window. Call transferred to environmental police, who transferred her to Mass. Fisheries & Wildlife. Upon arrival fox was observed to be unharmed and showed no signs of sickness. Left in yard.

3:03 p.m. — Report of Black F150 on Route 2 that passed another vehicle in breakdown lane and got off at Exit 16. Plate number given does not come back to a pickup truck.

3:21 p.m. — Medical emergency, East River Street.

3:52 p.m. — East Main Street caller advised that while she was at Walmart yesterday someone went through her vehicle and removed a blue flashlight and other items. She was advised officer would call her. She stated it wouldn’t do any good because people are messing with her phone with high frequencies and she would not be able to hear them.

4:47 p.m. — Resident reports an ice build up at the intersection with Bangs Avenue. Highway superintendent notified.

5:24 p.m. — Motorist reports boxes out in the road in front of Crimson Acres, Daniel Shays Highway. MADOT notified to pick up.

5:30 p.m. — The police station was visited by Girl Scout Troop 64867 who brought the officers pizza and many delicious baked goods. It was greatly appreciated by all members.

6:27 p.m. — Red Brook Lane caller requesting fire department because her apartment has water coming in it from apartment above hers.

10:32 p.m. — Caller reporting a cold-looking homeless male looking for money at the gas station on South Main Street. Appears to be in 30s, 6 feet tall, wearing flip flops. Same tried looking up shelters for him but was not successful. Officer spoke with clerk who advised subject was there 40 minutes ago and is now gone.
