Annual Christmas Fair Saturday at St. Francis Church

  • The ladies at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Athol were able to collect greens for their Christmas Greens baskets before the big snow storms hit this past week. For several years, Marie Shatos and Veronica Warren have been collecting local greens and red berries to make holiday baskets that can be used either outside or in the home. The baskets will be available at the Annual St Francis Christmas Fair and Bake Sale on Saturday, Dec. 7 in the church hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. submitted photo

ATHOL — The annual St. Francis Christmas Fair and Bake Sale will be held Saturday, Dec. 7, at the St. Francis of Assisi Church hall 1010 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Featured this year is an assortment of themed baskets, raffles, tin can auction, crafts, attic treasures, Christmas items and holiday arrangements.

The long standing tradition of serving homemade traditional Lithuanian food will take place again starting at 11 a.m. in the Candy Cane Café. Take outs will be available. Beef stew and hot dogs will also be served for the kids and there will be an assortment of baked goods available.

The fair is one of St. Francis’ biggest fundraising events with all of the proceeds used to offset the cost of heating fuel for the year.
