WINCHENDON — Children and families have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to hold a violin bow or try a clarinet. Through this hands-on program visitors can touch, hear and play many instruments and be introduced to the world of music, at the Beals Memorial Library, on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 3 p.m. The Springfield Symphony Orchestra's Musical Petting Zoo, a fun and informative, hands-on exhibit of musical instruments, will come to the Beals. After an introduction to the musical instruments, participants will get a chance to bow a violin, blow a horn, or tap out a rhythm on a drum. Each participant receives an Activity Book with information, activities and games about orchestra instruments. Space is limited so sign up is required. Call the library 978-297-0300 for more information.

The Beals Memorial Library is located at 50 Pleasant Street in Winchendon, Massachusetts. The event is brought to you by the Friends of the Beals Library and through a grant from the Winchendon Cultural Council.
