ATHOL — The annual Athol Orange Area Rotary Annual Dinner and Auction is done for another year with great success for the local community.

As the most significant event of the year for the Rotary, the fundraising efforts are used towards programs within the community including the Heywood Healthcare’s Backpack Program for food-insecure households in the North Quabbin region, and the NQCC Thanksgiving meal drive.

“The Athol Orange Area Rotary Club is extremely grateful for the generous support displayed at our annual dinner and auction. Together with our individual and corporate donors, the club raised over $15,000 for its charitable giving accounts. One hundred percent of the funds raised at this event are used to support charities and non-profit organizations in the North Quabbin area,” said Shaun Suhoski, Athol Town Manager.

Local businesses in the area showed their support by sponsoring one of the tables including MassGrow, MBA Mortgage, Heywood Healthcare, Athol Savings Bank and Gelinas Waste Recycle and Landscaping — to name a few.

On the night, a silent auction was held followed by a live auction. All occurred while guests enjoyed a prime rib dinner catered by King Philip Restaurant in Phillipston, and Dan Carr of Carr’s Affordable Catering in Orange.

The items for the auction ranged from gift certificates to event tickets and gift baskets. The Athol-Orange Rotary club is committed to the ideal of “fellowship and fun” while contributing to the well-being of the community and the wider world through the various fundraising efforts.
