Music, dancers, street games, food and more at First Friday event in Athol

ATHOL – Crafters, merchants, and various organizations will be stationed along Main Street on Friday, Aug. 2, offering more than 40 reasons for people to stroll, shop and support local businesses. The street is closed to traffic from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. during the family-friendly First Friday event which will feature live music by Carolyn Salls and The Can Collectors, dance performances, street games, and food by the Dawgmeister.

Vendors signed up so far are: Deja vu Women’s Consignments, Sweet Cottage Farm, Willow Brook Creations and a 4-H group, Tintagels Gate, Thirty One/Perfectly Posh, Tupperware, Plastic Canvas Gifts and Decorations, Creative Crafters, The United Arc, Friendly Town Social & World Heritage Exchange, BBC Fitness/Be Dazzled, Monkey Factory, Younique and/or Scentsy, Quabbin Valley Healthcare, Happy Helping Hands 4-H Club, It Works Global, Lynrose Farm Essentials, Hope, Heart, Honor & Help 4-H Club, Pampered Chef, Gail’s Sparkle Squad, LUK, Inc., DayDreamersCorner, This and That Crafts, Marcia Berkall Art, Bella’s Bakery, Valuing Our Children, Scrafty Custom Signs, Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, Never Grow Up!, North Quabbin Recovery Center, Athol Credit Union, Sisters2imagineers, Zazrak Inc., Hometown Realtors, Christine Packard Photography, Hero Shack Dot Com, Ms. Muffet’s IncrediKorn Gourmet Salted Caramel Corn & Peanuts, Cub Scouts Pack 16 American Legion, Corporation for Public Management, Maurices, Miss Monet’s Dance Studio, 110 Grill, and JCS Enterprises. The Athol Lions Club will be handing out soda and water.

The final First Friday of the season will take place on Sept. 6. In its second year, the event was created by Holly Young, a member of the Board of Selectmen, and Ann Willhite, owner of Deja vu Women’s Consignments.
