Children’s Summer Reading Program begins June 25

Tuesday, June 12, 2018

ATHOL — The Children’s Summer Reading Program at the Athol Public Library begins Monday, June 25. The program, “Libraries Rock,” is for children ages birth to fifth grade. Prizes are given to selected readers each week through raffles.

All summer, readers who read at least one book qualify for the grand prize raffle. Grand prizes include for children birth to age 3 a set of board books and a music CD. Children, 5 to 7 years old can win a musical instrument set. Children ages 6 to 12 can win one of two karaoke machines donated by Walmart in Orange. In addition, summer readers can earn money for the charity Laughing at My Nightmare, a nonprofit with a mission to spread positivity and to support people living with muscular dystrophy, by reading “Not So Different” by Shane Burcaw.
