Members and friends of the Athol Woman’s Club battled cold and wind to complete the Memory Tree on the Common, Friday. From left, Denise Laffond, Joyce Phinney, Mary Mallet, Marilyn Firth (ladder), Karen Hastings, Al Benjamin, Ted Mallet and Lena Schultzberg. The Athol Woman’s Club has decorated the Athol Uptown Common in Memory of friends and loved ones for the holiday season for more than 20 years. Coupons are available for donations from AWC members. The funds collected will brighten the Common and be used to support civic projects of the Woman’s Club throughout the year. Names of those remembered and donations will be collected at “Else Where” 1485 Main St. The names will be published by the Athol Daily News. The Castle Tree Service and Al Benjamin brought the tree to the bandstand and MacMannis Florists assisted with the decoration. Contact Connie Sonn for donation opportunities 978-249-0497.
