ATHOL – The ongoing reconstruction of Marble Street has worked in favor of the owners of Atlantic Brewers & Distillers who initially planned to open a brewery there last month after renovating the former Plotkin Furniture warehouse.

Business owner Joseph Gochinski said they’re using the time while the street is still being worked on to continue with preparations for the 105 Marble St. brewery. “Our plan is to get the taproom open soon,” possibly by the beginning of July, he said. The brewery should follow in six to eight weeks.

Gochinski doesn’t think parking will be an issue and said he is working with the town on the matter.

The brewery is composed of six 1,000 square foot sections. The taproom will be located in the first section and the brewery in the back. A cooler will be added soon. With the street project, the building will be getting a new water and sewer hook up.

Plans for the second floor are “down the road,” Gochinski said, as the focus right now is on the base part of the business.

The opening date will be announced in the Athol Daily News and on social media.
