Athol Santa Fund at $5,534

ATHOL — The Christmas countdown has begun and recent donations of $1,131 to the Athol Daily News Santa Fund will help local children enjoy the holiday this year. The sum brings the total to $5,534 on a goal of $13,500.

To help with the campaign to provide gifts to local children, look for the coupon in the Daily News and send a check or money order to: Athol Daily news Santa Fund, ℅ Athol Daily News, P.O. Box 1000, Athol, MA 01331, or drop off donations at the business office at 225 Exchange St. Donations may also be made anonymously, or in memory of a loved one.

The deadline to sign up your children to receive toys this year is Monday, Dec. 10. Stop by the office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with proof of residency from all recipients. For information call 978-249-3535.

Santa and his elves will deliver the gifts on Saturday, December 15, beginning at 9 a.m.
