ATHOL — Two hundred and forty registered voters attended Athol’s annual Town Meeting Monday night in Town Hall, and of the 32 articles on the warrant, 31 were addressed by the voters, while no action was taken on one article. There was no motion on Article 30, which would have transferred available funds to the Capital Stabilization Fund.

Town voters approved to authorize the Selectboard or town manager to apply for and accept state and federal grants for Fiscal Year 2019 — with no additional appropriation by the town.

Voters approved $250,000 from available funds for the purchase of equipment and infrastructure improvements for Athol’s water division, and $225,000 for the purchase of equipment and infrastructure improvements for the sewer division, as well.

About $1,249,478 was approved to operate the Department of Public Works’ water division enterprise fund and $1,507,319 to operate the Department of Public Works’ sewer division enterprise fund. Another $445,682 to operate the DPW’s transfer and recycling enterprise fund was also approved.

Voters also approved $10,000 from free cash for the Other Post-Employment Benefits Liability Trust Fund, and they agreed to reimburse the Stabilization Account from money received from New England Equestrian Land Management Conservation Corporation for the construction of a road in the Equestrian Park — as voted at 2011’s annual Town Meeting.

The next Selectboard meeting is set for Tuesday, June 19, at 7 p.m.
