PETERSHAM – With the trees showing their first signs of fall around the Petersham town common, some new vegetables will be making an appearance at the Friday Market this week.

Fall favorites like winter squash, root vegetables, potatoes and pumpkins will join the selection of tomatoes and leafy greens from the market’s vendors. The market and music continue into the cooler days of October.

Petersham musician Nate Grigos is set to bring his folksy mandolin and guitar music to the bandstand this Friday, Sept. 14.

The Friday Market runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Friday from June through October. More than a dozen local vendors from farmers to crafters set up on the town common with goods to sell from organic produce, home-baked dog cookies, herbal remedies, local eggs, handmade soaps and more.

The market receives support from Heywood Healthcare, the Wild Geese Foundation, the Petersham Cultural Council, The Country Store, Waterwheel Realty, Earthlands, individual local donors and Petersham Town Meeting voters.
