ATHOL — At its meeting Tuesday evening, the Athol Selectboard and the public were introduced to Cory Germain by board Vice Chair Rebecca Bialecki. Germain, a 16-year-old junior at Athol High School, is beginning an internship at Town Hall.

“He’s going to be participating in board meetings and some other projects,” Bialecki explained. “He’ll get to know the inner workings of Town Hall and all the departments and how everything interconnects.”

Attending the board meeting was his first official assignment.

“I’m thrilled,” Bialecki concluded, “that we have a high school student who has the interest and energy and wants to work with us.”

Town Manager Shaun Suhoski, at left, echoed those sentiments.
