ATHOL — The Athol Royalston Special Education Parent Advisory Council (AR SEPAC) held their second annual Senior Barbecue and award ceremony for all exceptional learners graduating from Athol High School on June 2.
Lisa Richards, a representative of the AR SEPAC, was a co-host of the event. She planned the event with staff from the Athol Royalston School District, Valuing Our Children and The North Quabbin Community Coalition. Everyone who attended was offered a free barbecue meal with all the fixings and an ice cream station. Guests also had the chance to win amazing raffle baskets, enjoy music, conversation and fun.
The seniors were recognized for their individual strengths and resiliency as they navigated learning opportunities throughout their education. Each student was presented a certificate personalized to their strengths and accomplishments, as well as a local store gift card. The AR SEPAC also awarded certificates to multiple individuals that were nominated by the students as most inspirational and supportive during their schooling.
