FCTS superintendent helps out at supper

ORANGE — The community supper held recently at the Bethany Lutheran Church saw some extra help from Franklin County Technical School (FCTS) Superintendent Richard Martin.

Martin volunteered to help during his visit with Cliff Fournier and Linda Chapman, FCTS School Committee members from Orange. Martin has plans to visit all school committee members in their towns. Fournier was in charge of the supper at the church and Chapman assisted in the kitchen and helped with whatever else needed to be done. They put Martin to work instantly and he seemed to enjoy it, they said.

In addition to getting to know committee members better, Martin also wanted to know Orange better and went out and talked with people who were there to eat and enjoyed conversations with them.

The superintendent helped prepare and serve food, and also helped with cleanup. He even vacuumed the dining room and cleaned off tables to help close up after everything was done.

Fournier stated, “The dinner was good, the atmosphere was good and the superintendent was great.”
