Robert F. Troope
ATHOL — Robert F. Troope, age 76, of Athol, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital of Worcester.
Robert was born Aug. 25, 1939, in Montague. He is the son of the late John Stark and the late Jenny W. (Adams) Troope. He married Irmgard Kloss on April 24, 1970.
Robert grew up in Athol, Orange, Pembroke and Bellingham and has lived in Athol most of his life.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by Union Twist Drill, McKenny’s Service Station, Chase Machine and KRH Rolls Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Irmgard (Kloss) Troope; one sister, Nancy Coffin and her husband Robert of Harwich; three stepchildren, Michael Master Jr. and his wife Querida of Royalston, Ramona Fanaritis and her husband Nickitis of Londonderry, N.H., and Heidrun Heisler and her husband Mark of Phillipston; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rosemary, of Lady Lake, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his sister, Mariam T. Adams, and his brother, Walter Troope.
Private burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
