Laurie E. Charleston
PETERBOROUGH, N.H. — Laurie Ellen (Sullivan) Charleston, 52, of Peterborough, N.H., died early May 1, 2017, peacefully in her sleep at the Elms Center in Milford, N.H., after a 14-year battle with multiple sclerosis.
Born on Dec. 8, 1964, she was the daughter of Michael and Priscilla Sullivan. She spent most of her early life in Athol. She graduated from Athol High School in 1982 and graduated from North Adams State College in 1986 with a degree in literature and journalism.
She was predeceased by her mother Priscilla Sullivan. Laurie is survived by her husband George Charleston and son, Dalton, of Peterborough; her father Michael Sullivan of Petersham, Mass.; her brothers, Mark Sullivan of Colebrook, N.H., and Ray Ortiz Sullivan of Escandido, Calif; and her cousin and close friend Peter Blunsden of Raymond, Maine.
Laurie was a free spirit and an independent adult, as her parents attest. She had her opinions and did not hesitate to express them. Her family and friends will confirm this.
There will be no religious ceremony but the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life gathering at her home in the summer.
“If you practice being fictional for awhile, you will understand that fictional characters are sometimes more real than people with bodies and heartbeats,” — Laurie’s high school yearbook quote.
