ORANGE — A graveside service for Richard and Beverly Bargeron, formerly of Orange, will be held Monday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m., at South Cemetery, 585 South Main St., Orange.
Pastor Steve Aldrich will officiate. A reception for family and friends will follow at the Universalist Church, 31 North Main St., Orange.
PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Beverly D. Bargeron, 99, of Port Richey, Fla., died on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Bear Creek Nursing Center in New Port Richey, just two weeks shy of her 100th birthday.
She was born in Orange, Mass. on May 28, 1917, the daughter of Clifford S. and Bernice (Williams) Bacon and grew up in Orange.
She graduated from Orange High School in 1935, and from Doerr Academy for Hairdressing and Cosmetology in Springfield, Mass., in 1936. She was a hairdresser at Elgie’s Beauty Salon, which later became Wood’s Beauty Care, in Orange, for 34 years.
On Jan. 21, 1939, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard (“Rit”) D. Bargeron. They were married 70 years at the time of his death in 2009. They lived in Orange until 1980 when they both retired and moved to Florida.
She leaves her daughter, Mary Lou Austin of Torrington, Conn., her son, Daryl R. Bargeron and his wife, Paula, of New Port Richey, Fla., two granddaughters, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her dearest friend, Ruie Hall, of Orange.
She is predeceased by her husband, Richard (“Rit”), her sister, Shirley Liston and her husband Richard (Dick), and many sisters-in-law.
Burial will be in South Cemetery in Orange, in September 2017.
