TAM to hold February auditions

GARDNER — Mount Wachusett Community College’s Theatre at the Mount has announced auditions for the children’s musical “The Little Mermaid Jr.” Director Emily Smith, music director Katrina Baer and choreographer Amanda Lawton are looking for a large ensemble of children and teens (age 8 to 18) with singing, dancing and acting ability.

Auditions will be held by appointment only on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 10 or 11 a.m. for ages 8 to 12 and 1 p.m. for ages 13 to 18. To schedule an appointment, call the Theatre at the Mount box office at 978-630-9388, or e-mail an appointment request to box-office@mwcc.mass.edu. Auditions will be held in room 182.

Auditions will consist of singing and dancing auditions. Vocal selection and dance combination will both be taught at the audition. Some performers will also be asked to do cold readings from the script.

Performances of “Little Mermaid” are April 10 at 9:30 a.m.; April 11, 12 and 13 at 9:30 a.m. and noon (for school groups); and April 8 at 2 p.m. (for the general public.) The tentative rehearsal schedule is Sunday afternoons, and Tuesday and Thursday evenings, beginning Feb. 11.
