Alice R. Talbot
ORANGE — A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at Saint Mary’s Church in Orange for Alice R. (Rochon) Talbot, 93, formerly of Orange, who died in Newnan, Ga., on Oct. 21.
Fr. William Lunney of St. Jerome’s Church in Wesfield, and formerly pastor of St. Mary’s, officiated. Jack Bergquist was the altar server. Janet Paoletti was the pianist and Theresa Bergquist was the cantor. The Old Testament reading was by Eleanor Bowen and the New Testament reading was by Madeline Wallace. The gifts were brought forward by Priscilla Savoy and Suzanne Douglas. Eucharistic Minister Dennis Rochon assisted Fr. Lunney with Communion.
Interment followed in South Cemetery, Orange. Following the Rites of Committal, a reception was held at the Orange American Legion on Daniel Shays Highway.

NEWNAN, Ga. — Mrs. Alice R. Talbot, age 93, of Newnan, Ga., passed away peacefully from this life on Oct. 21, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Senoia, Ga.
She was born in L’Ange-Gardien, Quebec, Canada, on March 5, 1922, to the late Emile and Eva Rochon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rosario R. Talbot, who died in 1976. Mrs. Talbot received a certificate of merit for her nomination in 1974 as Massachusetts “Mother of the Year.” Upon retiring from Athol Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide, she was employed as a private caregiver until her retirement at the age of 89. She received numerous notes and letters of appreciation for her dedication and compassionate care provided to her patients. Mrs. Talbot loved spending time with her family, playing Scrabble, and working on jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Maurice and his wife, Rose (Newburgh, N.Y.), Eleanor Bowen and her husband, Clark (Sparta, Ill.), Priscilla Savoy (Senoia, Ga.), Louis (New Salem, Mass.), Margaret Innocenti and her husband, Robert (Ocala, Fla.), Suzanne Douglas and her husband, Lee (Winston-Salem, N.C.), Vince (Winston-Salem, N.C.), Rosalie Wright and her husband, Daniel (Poway, Calif.), and Madeline Wallace (Peachtree City, Ga.); 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Gregoire and Armand Rochon.
Calling hours will be Monday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 10 at St. Mary’s Church, 19 Congress St., in Orange with Fr. Bill Lunney officiating. Interment will be beside her husband, Rosario, in South Cemetery, Orange.
