Eunice A. "Pat" (Miner) Rumrill November 19, 2015

ORANGE — Eunice A. “Pat” (Miner) Rumrill, 87, of Main Street, passed away November 19th at home surrounded by family.

A native of Leyden, Pat was born at home and attended the local one room school house as well as Greenfield High School, later graduating from Orange High School.

She was a lifetime learner, going back to school attending Greenfield Community College in her 40’s and later retired in the early 1990’s after a career in the first IT department at Rodney Hunt Company in Orange.

Pat enjoyed geneology, gardening, antique books, was involved with the DAR as well as her work at the Orange Historical Society.

Aside from her love of history, her love of cooking will always be remembered by her ever present jar of fresh chocolate chip cookies.

She and her husband, Edward, were charter members of the Millers River Beagle Club.

Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Edward L. Rumrill, her daughter, Sue Ellen, and her brother, Allen Miner.

She is survived by her son, John Rumrill and his wife, Bonnie; granddaughters, Megan, Marcy and Christine; a great-grandson, Noah; a life long friend, June Lawson; and sister-in -law, Ann Miner; and many nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Witty’s Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange, with the Rev. Don Erickson of the Community Church of North Orange and Tully officiating.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Orange Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 298, Orange, MA 01364-0298 or to the Meals on Wheels at Franklin County Home Care, 330 Montague City Road, Turners Falls, MA 01376-2530.
